Cousin (to Hubby): Do you sleep with one eye open?

First of all, I HAVE A DRAFT OF MY GOBLIN STORY!

:D

Secondly:

  • I think my goblin story could be a little longer, which is fine. I’m kind of excited by the prospect. I also think I’ve got at least one other companion tale to go with it, possibly more — but there’s really no telling what my inspiration may do between now and when I finalize my current WIP.
  • The anthology, “(Vampires, Zombies, Ghosts, and Other Things That Go) Bump in the Night” is a FINALIST in the 2010 Eppie Awards from EPIC.
  • I have been asked to contribute to another Drollerie anthology about the flow/sale/theft/use of magic; I am considering doing a story in the same universe as “Dead Woman Walking” (which appeared in ‘Bump’), but nothing’s set in stone yet.
  • I watched some weird pseudo-slasher flick last night with Hubby, and I have to ask: WHY are the men the only ones who at least get to try to stop the baddie? WHY are the women always relegated to being screaming, sobbing, helpless wrecks of flesh who can’t seem to be remotely coherent? And furthermore, WHY do people always do the opposite of what common sense dictates??? If the baddie is coming toward you, and you have option A) to run up the stairs into the attic you cannot escape from, or option B) to run outside the front door you just came in, get into your car, which you just parked, and DRIVE AWAY, Why on God’s green EARTH do you run into the attic!!??!? Watching that film, I just about died from disgust. Now, off to watch “Cat’s Eye” based on the Stephen King book, and we’ll see if the 80’s screenwriting is just as bad as the slasher flick from last night.

Snicker, snicker. Actually, the  bike is hotter than I am. Mom took this last month? Month before? when Hubby, his Cousin, and I took a little trip to show off my bike to my Mom. Naturally, it was the day it was just above freezing (definitely below with windchill). We stopped so many times to warm our hands on our engines/exhaust pipes, hehehe. We were soooooo COOOOOOOLD by the time we got home, but we had so much fun! :D (I never said I wasn’t crazy.)

Mom took this pic in the parking lot of the restaurant we ate at for lunch.
